To address Health Equity’s requirement Click here. Savita Memorial Trust has taken over the management of CC Patel Sarvajanik Hospital, a 50-bed facility in Sojitra, for a period of 25 years from June, 2023. Since the take-over, a significant investment in the infrastructure and facilities of the hospital has been made to ensure that it is able to take care all cases where intensive care requiring invasive ventilation and super speciality services are not needed.

The hospital has full-time consultants in the areas of general and community medicine as well as dentistry and physiotherapy. Visiting consultants serve needs of patients in orthopaedic, ophthalmic, ENT, Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Paediatric areas. Services are provided through hospital’s 6 Consultation Rooms, including 2 specialised facilities, for dental and eye patients.
The hospital’s in-patient services are provided through the following facilities:

The hospital has 3 modern Operation theatres which are fully equipped to undertake all kind of minor, major and supramajor surgeries. The hospital has specialist of all surgical branches, namely, general surgery, Obstertircs and Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery and Uro surgery. The hospital's Dental Department is also well equipped to handle all oral and Maxillofacial surgery.
The hospital houses 6 modern Dialysis Machines at its Day Care Centre. The machines are run in 3 shift there by ensuring maximum patient intake in a day. The patients especially between Khambhat and Anand are now not required to go too far to undertake their treatment. The Dialysis is also possible in case of need to be done in patients taking treatment at the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) of the hospital.

The hospital’s Emergency Services are the only such services available within a radius of 10-15 kms. Although there is only a relatively small Emergency Room with 4 trauma trolleys (currently 2 operational equipped with monitoring facilities and piped medical gases), its existence is of considerable importance as the hospital is located very close to a major highway project connecting the Central Gujarat to Saurashtra (Anand-Tarapur-Bagodara) Highway.

The hospital’s 3 operation theatres provide important support for Emergency Services. These theatres are fully equipped with lights, tables, anaesthesia trolleys and other instruments. Together with the ICU, they enable lifesaving procedures and treatment.
The hospital’s Lab services, with its state-of-the-art fully automated bio-chem analyser, 3-part haemato-analyser, urine analyser, etc. is able to meet almost the entire requirement of tests. For tests not performed in situ, the hospital has a tie-up with a more advanced facility in Anand, Unipath Labs.
The Radiology services comprise a 300 mA digital x-ray machine with a CR system and a USG machine, which has been registered under the PC-PNDT Act. The hospital has tied up with the local governmental health administration for conducting ante-natal sonography for pregnant women. Around 150-200 such procedures are carried out every month.
The hospital also has well maintained inventory of all the medicines which are required for the indoor and out patient services available 24*7 . The pharmacy also sell over the counter drugs for outside patients.
The hospital offers preventive healthcare services in 3 areas:

There are 4 Health Check-up packages offered; Premium, Regular, Diabetes Screening and Senior Citizen programme. Click here to know more about these packages.

To ensure that cost of treatment does not become a deterrent to taking consultations from qualified medical professionals, the hospital does not charge for registration or consultation charges. Patients are provided an Identification Card with a QR Code, which enables records of all their medical visits to be maintained online. The hospital also provides a 25% discount on generic medicines and 10% on branded medicines. Patients who have Below-the-Poverty-Line (BPL) cards get 10% additional discount on generic medicines and 5% on branded medicines. Patients are also provided 30% discount on all investigations and BPL patients 40% discount. Radiological services, x-ray and sonography, are are provided at Rs.100 and Rs.200 per test respectively.
For in-patient treatment, the hospital has adopted a practice, “Pay It Forward”, that is used in some service sector non-profit settings, though not in hospitals. When a patient requires admission to hospital for treatment, no charges are taken. During the treatment, the patient pays for medicines and consumables as and when required and at the end of the treatment, she is provided with the bill of unpaid services only for her to know the cost of her treatment. She is not asked to pay the bill as the previous patient who took the same treatment has already paid for her treatment, but is asked whether she would like to consider contributing for the next patient in the same way and whatever contribution that the patient considers providing, is accepted without demur. This helps the hospital provide treatment to indigent patients while protecting their dignity and also in evaluating patient satisfaction as only those who are satisfied and also in a position to pay would contribute for care of other patients.
In order to bring the rural community at Matar Taluka within the fold of Health Equity, an extension centre, Savita Memorial Clinic, has been operationalized from August, 2025. The Centre offers out-patient consultations by a general physician, a dental clinic, a physiotherapy clinic, pharmacy, x-ray and lab services. The Centre is operational between 8.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. on all working days. A training facility has also been set up where training of Arogya Mitras takes place. With passage of time, monitoring and supervision of the work of Arogya Mitras in their respective villages would also be carried out from this facility.
