Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 8 September 2026

1. About this policy

Health Equity (healthequity.in) is an initiative of Savita Memorial Trust, a public charitable trust registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950 (Registration No. E/1335/Anand, PAN AADTS5268B) ("the Trust", "we", "us"). This Cancellation Policy explains when and how a donation made through our website can be cancelled. It should be read together with our Refund Policy, Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

We do not sell goods or services through this website, so there is no order to cancel in the commercial sense. The website currently accepts one-time donations only. Section 4 applies only if a recurring donation or mandate has separately been set up in favour of the Trust.

2. Cancelling before a payment is completed

You may abandon a donation at any point before the payment is authorised. Close the payment window, or use the cancel or back option shown by your bank or payment provider. Nothing is charged and no donation record is created against your name.

If you close the payment window after your bank has already debited the amount, treat it as a failed transaction and follow Section 6 of our Refund Policy.

3. Cancelling a completed one-time donation

Once a one-time donation has been successfully authorised and confirmed, the transaction is complete and cannot be cancelled, because the funds are allocated to programme costs shortly after receipt.

If the donation was made in error, was a duplicate, or was not authorised by you, it may still qualify for a refund. Write to us within seven days at [email protected] and we will handle it under our Refund Policy.

4. Cancelling a recurring or monthly donation

Our website does not currently offer a recurring or monthly donation option. If a recurring donation, standing instruction or e-mandate in favour of the Trust has been set up by any other means, or if we introduce this option in future, you may cancel it at any time, without giving a reason and without any cancellation charge.

To cancel, email [email protected] from the address used at the time of the donation, stating your name, registered mobile number and the mandate or reference number. You may also cancel the mandate directly through your bank or UPI application.

  • Please allow at least 3 business days before the next scheduled debit date for the cancellation to take effect.
  • A cancellation received later than this may not stop an instalment that has already been presented to your bank. If that happens, tell us and we will refund that instalment under our Refund Policy.
  • Cancelling a recurring donation stops all future instalments. Instalments already collected and applied to programme work are not reversed automatically.

5. Cancellation by the Trust

We may decline or cancel a donation, and return the amount to the original payment method, where:

  • the transaction is flagged as suspicious, fraudulent or in breach of applicable law;
  • accepting the donation would put the Trust in breach of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act or any other regulatory requirement;
  • the donor details provided are incomplete, false or cannot be verified; or
  • a specific appeal has closed or met its target and the donor has asked not to have the amount redirected to our general fund.

Where we cancel a donation, we will tell you by email and return the amount to the original payment method within the timelines given in our Refund Policy.

6. Use of donations to a specific appeal

Donations made through this website go to the Trust’s general healthcare fund unless you name a particular appeal in the comment box on the donation form. Where a donation is made to a named appeal and that appeal closes, is fully funded or is withdrawn, we will apply the amount to the general healthcare fund so that it continues to serve the same charitable purpose. If you would prefer a refund instead, write to us within seven days of your donation and we will arrange it.
