Health Equity (healthequity.in) is an initiative of Savita Memorial Trust, a public charitable trust registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950 (Registration No. E/1335/Anand, PAN AADTS5268B) ("the Trust", "we", "us").
This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, how we protect it and what rights you have over it. It applies to everyone who visits this website, makes a donation, applies to volunteer or contacts us. Please read it together with our Terms of Service.
Information you give us when you donate. Our donation form asks for your first and last name, email address, phone number, Permanent Account Number (PAN), country, postal address and an optional message. We ask for your PAN because it is required to issue a donation receipt that can be used to claim a deduction under the Income Tax Act, 1961.
Information you give us in other ways. If you contact us, apply to volunteer or write to us about working with us, we collect the details you choose to send, such as your name, contact details and the content of your message.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our servers record your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you visit, and the date and time of your visit. This is used to keep the site secure and to understand which pages are useful.
Information we do not collect. We never see or store your card number, CVV, expiry date, UPI PIN, bank account number or netbanking credentials. Those are entered on the payment gateway's own secure page and never reach our servers.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
Online donations are processed by Razorpay, a payment gateway authorised by the Reserve Bank of India. When you pay, you are taken to Razorpay's secure interface and your payment credentials are handled entirely by them under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. We receive only the outcome of the transaction, a payment reference and the payment method used. Razorpay's handling of your data is governed by its own privacy policy.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone. We share it only in these situations:
This website uses cookies that are necessary for it to work, including a session cookie that keeps your visit consistent from page to page and a security token that protects forms against misuse. These cannot be switched off without breaking the site. Where we use analytics to count visits and understand which pages are read, that information is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may then not work correctly.
Donation records, including donor name, PAN and amount, are retained for at least eight financial years because charitable trusts are required to preserve books of account and receipts for inspection and audit under the Income Tax Act, 1961 and under public trust law. This means we cannot delete a donation record on request, even though you may ask us to stop contacting you at any time.
Enquiries, volunteer applications and general correspondence are kept only as long as needed to deal with them and for a reasonable period afterwards. Server logs are retained for a short period for security purposes.
This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Access to donation records is restricted to authorised trustees and staff through password-protected administrative accounts. Payment credentials never reach our systems. We review our practices periodically.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach occurs that is likely to affect you, we will inform you and the relevant authorities as required by law.
You may ask us to:
Write to [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Donations should be made by a person legally competent to contract. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
Our pages may link to other websites, including our payment gateway and social media pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. Please read their policies before giving them your information.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Continuing to use the website after a change means you accept the revised policy.
For any question about this policy, or to raise a grievance about how your information has been handled, contact our Grievance Officer:
We acknowledge grievances within 3 business days and aim to resolve them within 30 days.
